Basic Information of HSS Rolls:
High-speed steel roll is one type hot roll materials that the advent late, but developed rapidly,used widely, has good thermal stability. In the temperature, rolls surface has high hardness and excellent abrasive resistance, and high speed steel rolls have good Permeability, the surface hardness and working layer hardeness is stable, so that the rolls have good abrasive resistance and impact toughness.
Because of excellent advantages of the rolls, it requires high on the cutting tools. The cutting tools for machining high speed steel rolls need have high hardness, abrasive resistance, heat resistance and impact toughness.

Tool Holder: For large scale rolls, we need to use heavy cnc lathe, and the tool holder usually use 40*40, and the angle need to choose 45 degree. Some small scale rolls, we need to use 25*25 or 32*32 tool holder. We can choose the angle depending on the “Length-Diameter Ratio”,thin rolls use 90 degree or 75 degree rolls, Rough rolls, we usually use 45 degree rolls or arc rolls.
