High Efficiency Tools of machining Centrifugal Composite HSS
Centrifugal composite HSS roll has high core toughness, high strength working layer, high wear resistance characteristics, is widely used in narrow strip, bar and other production lines. However, due to the constraints of the existing machining level, high-speed steel roll processing efficiency is very low, the application of performance is not high, less output, limiting its popularity. In China, we use CNC Lathe to machine HSS Rolls, the cutting speed is small and the cutting force also small, so it doesn’t required high on the rigidity of the lathe. And it has high processing precision, but low efficiency, and the costs are very high.
High Efficiency Processing is based on the strong cutting force, both the cutting amount and the cutting force is large, it needs to use heavy duty CNC mills to machine. The cutter body use HSS materials, and the insert we choose special grade BN-S20 solid cbn insert, which has excellent performance on machining HSS rolls. The tools strength and the red hardness are the important factors that we need to consider when choose cutting tools for high speed machining HSS Rolls.
