Halnn superhard studied the BN-K1 CBN inserts for high hardness cast iron castings. It belongs to solid PCBN inserts. It’s advantage has four aspects:
(1) CBN content up to 90%, high hardness, good wear-resistance
(2) Adopt non-metal (ceramics) as binder to improve the heat resistance and collapse resistance of BN-K1 CBN inserts. It can withstand intermittent cutting
(3) cutting depth between 1-10 mm, to achieve heavy-duty cutting, improve production efficiency
(4) dry cutting, to achieve clean production, to reduce production costs.
For the slurry pump, BN-K1 CBN inserts can cut with heavy load and interrupt cutting. Slurry pump includes pump housing, impeller, pump shaft, sheath, front and rear guard plate and other parts. Among them, impeller is the main part of work. High chromium alloy cast iron is often used as the main material to obtain a longer service life.
Cr26 and Cr27 are usually adopted materials. Each of impeller includes 5 or 12 impeller pieces, so the process of impeller has high requires for inserts. Then, Halnn superhard CBN inserts BN-K1 not only promises the size requires, but also improves the production efficiency when the slurry pump impeller was processed.
