1. Diamond PCD Tools
It also called Polycrystalline diamond, we usually called that PCD Tools.
It is sintered with a natural or synthetic diamond powder and a binder (including cobalt and nickel, ect ) as a certain rate at a high temperature (1000~2000℃) and a high pressure (500~100,000 atmospheres) to form a type PCD Blank with fixed diameter and thickness. After cutting and brazing, it will be made of various PCD Cutting Tools, which will be widely used in automotive, aerospace and some electronic industry.
Normally, The thickness of PCD Blank is about 2 types: 0.4~0.6mm and 0.8~1.0mm. They can be made of various PCD Tools, such as PCD Inserts, PCD Turning Tools, PCD Cutting Tools, PCD End Mills, PCD Reamers, PCD Drill Bits, ect.
2. Diamond CVD Tools
CVD, Chemical Vapor Deposition Method. The mixture of carbon-containing gas and oxygen is excited to decompose at a high temperature and a pressure lower than a standard atmospheric pressure to form active diamond carbon atoms, and deposits on the substrate to grow into polycrystalline diamond without any metal or non-metal additives. Its performance is very close to that of natural diamond.
CVD Diamond Tools include 2 types: CVD Diamond Coating Tools and CVD Polycrystalline Diamond Tools, Diamond Coating Tools can be deposited on a substrate of any shape, so the CVD Diamond Coating Tools are easily to manufacture complex profile tools such as drill bits, end mills, diamond blades with chipbreakers, ect.
However CVD Polycrystalline Diamond Tools are made with deposited the diamond layer, and obtain the Polycrystalline diamond , which thickness will be about 0.3~1.3m, then also used for diamond cutting tools, such as CVD Inserts, CVD Cutting Tools,ect. Which perform better than PCD Tools.
