Cutting Cemented Carbide
Specific for cutting cemented carbide, Halnn has developed a resin matrix diamond cutting wheel. The outer ring band is a resin bond abrasive working layer, and the center part is other metal materials with high strength and high rigidity, and most are used for cut-off and cutting grooves.
The models of the resin matrix diamond cutting wheel include 1A1/3、1A1R/4、1A1/5、1A1R/6.
1A1/3 and 1A1R/4 means the outer cutting circle of the base doesn’t have a water tank. However, 1A1/5, 1A1R/6 means that the outer circle has a water tank.

Turning Cemented Carbide
Cemented Carbide is a type difficult-to-cut material. In the past, it is usually use grinding process, with the development of super-hard cutting technology, the application of diamond (PCD) tools in cemented carbide processing is increasing.
Diamond cutting tool (PCD Tools) is a polycrystalline material obtained by polymerizing diamond micro-powder through metal bond (such as CO) under high temperature and high pressure conditions. It has good flexural strength and toughness, the wear resistance is about 140 times of Al2O3 abrasive. At the same time, the friction coefficient is smaller than other cutting tool materials, and it is suitable for processing hard alloys with hardness above HRC65.
At the same time, the CVD diamond thick film turning tool (negative rake angle) can be used for turning the hard alloy. With low cutting speed and water-soluble cutting fluid, the surface of the workpiece with surface roughness Ra100nm (0.1μm) can be completely processed.
We also use CVD Diamond Coating Tools machine tungsten carbide, it adopt low cutting speed and coolant to help obtain good surface roughness below Ra0.1.

For milling cemented carbide, according to customers’ need, we can offer CVD diamond coating and brazed pcd milling tools to help the customers improve the efficiency and product quality. For example, the roughness can achieve 0.073μm with diamond coating tools.
Brazed PCD Tools are usually belong to Ball nose end mills, pcd end mills, which roughness can be less than 10 nm.
