The cutting data choice for machining rolls with CBN Inserts
For the cutting depth, we usually choose the cutting depth of machining rolls, mainly depend on the hardness of the workpiece, and we also need to consider the requirements of the roughness, then make sure the cutting depth.
After confirm the cutting depth, we also need to choose the large feed rate depending on the cutter strength, cutter durability and the hardness requirements in the roughing process.
For the feed rate in the finishing process, we can choose depending on the surface roughness of the workpiece Because the feed rate will affect the surface roughness, so choose the reasonable cutting depth, feed rate and the cutting depth, it has important effect for ensure the product quality and improve the production efficiency.
(1) When machining the rolls body, we can choose low cutting speed and small cutting depth, and add the feed rate to improve the durability.

Workpiece Materials: Alloy Cast Iron 9CrV
Hardness: HRC55~62
Machining Process: Roughing and Semi-finishing
Insert: Solid CBN Insert
Cutting Data: ap=6mm, Vc=80m/min, Fr=1mm/r
